Our History
The Church of Christ in Milton Keynes was established through the dedication of three former university students from Ghana—Bro. Douglas Mensah, Bro. Ato Nimoh-Brema, and Sis. Yvonne Nimoh-Brema. Their strong bond, formed during their university years and campus ministry involvement, inspired them to establish a new congregation after a previous one in Milton Keynes had collapsed.
After worshiping with the Stratford (London) congregation in December 2003, they began meeting for worship in early 2004 at the home of Ato and Yvonne. Determined to grow the church, they reached out to fellow Christians in the area, leading to the addition of Bros. Marfo, Ben, and Appiah. Within three months, the congregation relocated to the Netherfield Meeting Place.
To further spread awareness, they published an article in the Christian Worker Newsletter, attracting visits from Christians in neighbouring areas. Among them was Bro. Greg Contell from Northampton, who generously donated 25 hymnals, enhancing their worship experience.
Since its humble beginnings, the congregation has been richly blessed, experiencing both spiritual and numerical growth. From just three founding members, it has grown into a thriving community of approximately 75 adults and 50 children, continuing to expand in faith, fellowship, and service.
